Last month we extolled the virtues of committing to laser hair removal treatments during the cold weather season and we’re coming right back at you again—this time it’s photofacials. Literally, there is no time like the present to undo any sun damage incurred last season. Like laser hair removal, photofacials require a series of treatments and you have the upper hand during months when sun is least likely to be at it’s peak. During a series of photofacial treatments, it’s imperative that you stay out of direct sunlight, so that the laser based treatment can do its job.
Here’s what you should expect: After each session (typically 4-6 depending on the patient) the spots, freckles and broken capillaries that you are targeting will get a bit more pronounced and then “fall off” after a few days—yes, they will literally fall off, so be prepared for that. And then, presto, your skin is as good as new again and you are resilient in your vow to wear sunscreen so that you don’t incur the damage again!
